IRS announced yesterday that it will start processing of 2018 returns on January 28, 2019. IRS also announced that it is prepared to issue tax refunds despite the government shutdown. Due to the government shutdown, a significant portion of IRS’s workforce has been furloughed. IRS has said that it will recall “a significant portion” of it furloughed workforce for the upcoming tax season.
